Church of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross Doubravník

The Pernštejn and Mitrovský ancestral tombs

The Doubravník conservation area consists of the historic core of the township with the parish church, remains of fortifications, a rectory, and residential houses.

The Church of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross in the late Gothic and Renaissance style was built here by the powerful lords of Pernštejn as their family tomb. The tomb had to be of a high standard, which is why it is made of blue marble from Nedvědice. In the pseudo-Gothic tomb of the Mitrovský family lie 19 cast-iron sarcophagi, which are a cultural monument (but unfortunately, the cemetery chapel is usually not open to the public). Inside the church, you will see a valuable Renaissance pulpit and a rare Baroque organ by Jan Výmola from 1760.
