The St. Goddard Wine Festival delights hundreds of people every year with the guaranteed trio of wine + food + singing! Come and taste quality wines from Dolní Kounice and the surrounding villages - You will taste from more than 300 wine samples from 100 winemakers.
Whether your taste in wine is for red or white, sweeter or drier, fragrant or bland... you'll find something to suit you here. Local winemakers pour all the traditional varieties, including those that are currently in fashion. And of course, the dominant wine is the Blaufränkisch from Dolní Kounice, because it's famous!
Wines and fragrant delicacies are accompanied with a festival programme to delight the other senses as well. You'll see costume performances, hear dulcimer music, and there are games for the children. The craft fair and culinary specialties are never missing. The Kounice Wine Festival is a relaxed event where local winemakers meet wine lovers. Visitors often return year after year and look forward to seeing their favourite vintages and favourite winemakers. And why is the event named after St. Godhard? It is he who is the patron saint of the winemakers of the Dolní Kounice region.
