Klucanina lookout tower

Overviewing Tišnov and more

The lookout tower with the clever name Klucanina stands on the hill of the same name above Tišnov. Don't expect a flimsy prefabricated structure swaying in the wind. This is a solid brick lady almost 30 metres high. Thanks to its impressive height, it offers breathtaking views to all sides of the world and information boards tell you what you can see from the hill Babí lom to the hill Sýkoř. But the royal view is not for free - There are 133 steps to climb first.

The lookout tower can be reached from Tišnov along the blue tourist trail (from the hospital). And if you go there between May and June, keep your eyes on the ground - You might see flowers of the rare orchid, one of the most beautiful European flowers.

If you walk down from Klucanina past the cemetery, we highly recommend a visit to the Patriot Gallery mineral exhibition, which has one of the most valuable collections of rare gemstones in the Czech and Slovak Republics. Breathtaking pink rhodochrosite from Romania or incredible blue cavansite from India... your eyes will sparkle. And if you are interested in mineralogy, you can visit the mineralogical exchange in Tišnov which has the longest tradition in the Czech Republic and is organised twice a year.
