Hiking trip with views of Tišnov
Hiking through beautiful forests to the views of the town featured in Cops and Robbers (Četnické humoresky)
Take a hike through the beautiful landscape of the Tišnov region. Take deep breaths, feel the soothing green colour of the forests. From May to June, look under your feet as you climb the Klucanina lookour tower - You may see the rare orchid lady's-sliper in bloom. At the end of your trip, stop by the largest collection of precious stones in the country and take a tour of pleasant Tišnov before heading home. It's got some architectural aces up its sleeve, and the local tourist centre is a great place to buy bottled beers from interesting local breweries and brewpubs to take home.

The Path of the Capital Law
Are you coming from Brno? Hop on the S3 or R9 train at the main train station and get off in Tišnov. From the station in Tišnov, head to the centre - Just behind the town hall you will find the first stop of the nature trail Cesta hrdelního práva (The Path of the Capital Law) called Pýcha (Pride). The next stop is on Brněnská Street. And at the end of the road, take the blue signpost Na Spravedlnosti (At the Justice), a short distance from where the Tišnov gallows used to be, and continue to the Klucanina lookout tower.
And since you are in a region of beautiful nature, look carefully along the way, you may see the flowers of the lady's-sliper orchid - It is one of the most beautiful European flowers.

From below, lookout towers usually look inviting. But then, perhaps the sight of the depths below makes you nervous as you climb the steel grated stairs? The Klucanina lookout tower on the hill of the same name is merciful in this respect, even though it is impressive 30 metres tall. It's a proper solid lady made of bricks. Climbing the 133 steps rewards you with breathtaking views in all directions and information boards tell you what you see.
Go down from Klucanina by following the yellow tourist trail to the cemetery. Just after the Tišnov sign, make a detour to Galerie Patriot. It hides the most valuable private collection of precious stones in the Czech Republic and Slovakia.
Why you should not skip Tišnov
And since we've thought of the start and destination of the trip in this town, we'll tell you something about it. At the end of the 19th century, Tišnov was declared a climatic place due to its excellent location and beautiful surroundings. A sanatorium and a hydrotherapy institute were built here. Cultural giants such as Halas and Janáček stayed at the sanatorium. Today, it serves a hospital that was featured in Cobs and Robbers (Četnické humoresky) together with the local Art Nouveau Jaroch Villa and Villa Franke. Are you a fan of architecture?
