The Old Brickyard in Zbýšov
Awesome picnic spot
Just outside Zbýšov you will find a historic brickyard. You can reach it by following a dirt path. The bricks made here were once used to build houses all over old Zbýšov. Today there is only a brick kiln and a nice little house with an exhibition about the history of the brickyard and brick production. Local enthusiasts have restored the building and elevated the resting place to a great picnic opportunity.
(How were bricks made the old-fashioned way? No fun, my friends. You had to dig the clay, process it into a mixture, put it into moulds, dry the bricks and then fire them in a kiln for a few days.)
