Ludmila pond

Concert hall of local frogs

At the pool in Holasice, frogs literally give concerts during the season. There used to be a heavily waterlogged area of the Svratka River floodplain, with small ponds scattered around in the 1930s. Later, the terrain was cleared for fields.

In 2000, however, the site was revitalised and the mission was to revive the former wetland communities of flora and fauna. And it worked! Soon the site was colonised by plants and animals, including rare species such as white water lilies, yellow irises and carnivorous bladderwort, and the local population of smooth newts and European fire-bellied toads was saved.

Ludmila is a great place for a picnic! And if you don't have a picnic blanket with you, feast at the wooden table with benches. The route of the nature trail that leads through the Rajhrad microregion (stop number 8) goes by this place.
