Butterfly paradise and observatory in Ždánice

Strikingly beautiful location of quiet Ždánice

Ždánice is a bit remote - More precisely at the foot of Ždánice Forest in the picturesque Slovácko region. It is a small town, but it has a lot in its repertoire for the visitors. Right by the town office, enter the Butterfly Paradise. In early summer, up to 84 species of butterflies will accompany you along the way. You'll find their descriptions on the information boards. The best month to visit is June, when the local meadows are in bloom, a joy to behold. You won't find a greater concentration of velvet wings in the Czech lands. Moreover, the nature trail leads through a unique biotope full of old fields and meadows. And the local oak trees... These stout giants have been growing here for centuries. The fairytale-like path will take you to the Oříšek crossroads. Here you can join the second nature trail that will show you the Ždánice Forest in all its beauty.

In Ždánice go to the observatory and planetarium. There is not as much light smog as in around big cities, so the conditions for viewing are favourable. Do you have children with you? You can choose this stellar adventure as a part of our 15 adventures with children playing card.

And if you still have the energy and time, the Vrbas Museum awaits you in Ždánice Castle. It's a collector's paradise. You will see over 6,000 exhibits! Memories of General Laudon, moving models of mills, steam engines, medieval villages, etc.

For the icing on the cake, visit the Symonie pastry shop, where they serve the famous delicacies from Ždánice. Yes, we are talking about fluffy snow tubes and kremes!
