Watch the forest animals
Your children have already seen a sloth and a red panda at the zoo. But can they tell a deer from a fallow deer? Go to see the domestic wild animals to the forest park in Brno, where they are comfortable and you can observe them in peace.
HOLEDNÁ GAME RESERVE
No zoo, no breeders in rubber boots here and there. "Just" forest animals out in the wild. You know what they are? And what do you call a female from a doe and a female from a buck? The Holedná game reserve between the Brno districts of Bystrc, Jundrov and Kohoutovice is inhabited by wild boars, fallow deer and mouflons. You can get here by public transport from the centre.
Respect the fact that apart from the wild boars in the enclosure there are very shy animals living here, so give them space, don't feed them, don't shout. And at least explain your kids that the animals don't like rolls, and leave them at home for dinner.
There's a nice nature trail through the grounds. The surface is paved, you'll have a nice walk. You'll see several ponds, gazebos, panels with information about the local wildlife. Your canine friends are welcome, but only on a leash. And near the top of Holedná, climb the new lookout tower.
