Take a swim in the river
Swimming in the river by the raft like in the old days, sausage for lunch followed by a popsicle from the local kiosk, a game of cards on a blanket in the middle of the meadow. That, my friends, is what a real, honest holiday looks like. And your kids should experience it, too.
STŘÍBSKÝ MILL NEAR IVANČICE
The Jihlava River is particularly picturesque at Stříbský Mill. The local raft murmurs and persuades people to swim (and it doesn't take long to persuade anyone). The owners of the meadow by the river do everything to make you feel like the swimming master Antonín Důra in Vančura's Whimsical Summer.
In the shallow riverbed just below the raft, children enjoy water play on small islands. The so-called river baths will keep even small non-swimming kids entertained for the whole afternoon.
And if you're still in the mood for a stroll, follow the open-air sculpture gallery. They will direct you at the nearby information centre in Ivančice. The view from the church tower there might just be open. Check out the hiking and biking trips we have put together for you. It is such a beautiful region that it would be a sin not to explore it more closely.
