Chocholík lookout tower - a viewpoint with breathtaking panoramas. At the top of Chocholík Hill, approximately 1.5 km northwest of Drnovice near Vyškov, there is an elegant steel lookout tower. Thanks to its position and height, it offers a magnificent view of the surrounding area.

The lookout tower is freely accessible all year round for pedestrians and cyclists. A paved path leads to the top from the local cemetery above the church (approx. 1.6 km). The tower structure reaches a height of 26 metres, while the viewing platform is located at a height of 23 metres. You can make your way up by counting the 144 steps, which will lead you to breathtaking views.

History of the lookout tower

Originally, there was a simple wooden structure on this site that served as a triangulation point, but over time it has disappeared. In 2010, construction of the current triangular tower began at the highest point of the hill, and it quickly became a popular destination for tourists and photographers alike.

Views that will captivate you

The observation deck offers a unique view of all sides of the world.

North, west and south-west - the scenery of the Drahanská vrchovina (Drahan Highlands) stretches out.

Southeast - you can see the Chřiby Mountains, Ždánický Forest and, in good weather, the Basilica of Svatý Hostýn.

Southwest - offers a view of the picturesque Pálava.

Northeast - sometimes the peaks of the Beskydy Mountains can be seen.

And in exceptionally good visibility? Witnesses claim that even the Austrian Alps can be seen!
